Couples Therapy

In Seattle and throughout Washington State

Your relationship doesn’t feel the way it used to…

Conflict is taking over.

Connection is harder and harder to find.

Everything you’ve tried is falling short.

Relationships are complex because they’re important and meaningful. If you want to find a path forward with your partner, I’m here to support you. I work with couples experiencing routine verbal conflict, communication difficulties, the aftermath of betrayal and broken trust, and relationship transitions.

The process

I firmly believe that you can’t solve a problem that you don’t understand. Our first step in getting started is to create a felt understanding of the impact you and your partner have on one another. Every time one of you asks for support, hurls a criticism, or walks away, the other is impacted in a way that we need to understand to create change in your relationship.

In session, I push the needle toward personal and relational growth to support you in creating the relationship you want. I work best with couples who know that they want to be together and are committed to figuring out how to make that a reality. People who enjoy working with me tend to value my directness and transparency.

My Method

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a process oriented approach that helps you and your partner find a mindful awareness of the dynamics that keep you stuck, in conflict, and not feeling seen or understood. Using a depth-oriented, attachment-based approach, we work to create new, more virtuous cycles of emotional safety, understanding, love, and support.

The Gottman Method

The Gottman method is a behavioral approach that supports couples in rebuilding a strong foundation of trust, commitment, and communication. Using the Gottman Method, I support you with tools to find connection throughout the week and skills to navigate conflict in a new way.
