Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my insurance benefits?

I am an out-of-network provider, meaning that I do not contract with any insurance providers or Medicare. Some (not all) plans include out-of-network benefits. I can offer a Superbill, which is like a detailed reciept, for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

How do I know what my insurance will reimburse?

Your insurance provider will be able to provide you with this information. This can be a different process for couples therapy. In couples therapy, we address relational issues such as conflict cycles, breached trust, and communication skills. This means you aren’t diagnosed with a mental health condition, such as Major Depressive Disorder. Often, this means that insurance will not reimburse for couples therapy. Ask your insurer if they reimburse for Z-Codes to figure out what your plan covers.

How often will we meet?

We will either meet weekly or biweekly. This ensures that we are able to feel consistency and momentum in our work, versus using your valuable session time for “catching-up.”

Do my partner and I both have to attend the consultation for couples therapy?

Short-answer: yes!

What should I expect during our consultation?

A consultation is a time for us to meet one another, chat about what you’re looking to get out of therapy and discuss what the process of therapy looks like. I can answer questions that you have and we can discuss the logistics of getting started. A consultation is not therapy and does not commit you to moving forward as a client.
